Canada and the United States have a unique contracting relationship for military acquisitions anchored in the Canada-U.S. Defence Production Sharing Agreement (DPSA). As Canada鈥檚 foreign military sales agency, we are funded by the Government of Canada to:

  • Strengthen Canada-U.S. defence procurement cooperation
    Under the U.S.-Canada Defence Production Sharing Agreement (1956).
  • Support an expanded defence supply base
    Enhance DoD access to products and services from Canadian industry.
  • Reduce barriers to the contracting process

With the U.S. DoD Prime Contractor service, Canadian businesses have the expertise and support they need to sell their products and services to the U.S. military. Not only do they have the Government of Canada as a sales partner, Canadian businesses can compete on equal footing with U.S. firms as they are seen as a domestic supplier.

Our U.S. DoD Prime Contractor service not only broadens the U.S. DoD鈥檚 supply base, it reduces their supply chain risk as we perform an integrity, technical, managerial, and financial due diligence on Canadian suppliers. Our service also reduces contract administration effort, provides assurance of value for money, and delivers a guarantee of contract performance.

When we connect a U.S. DoD buyer to a Canadian company, we鈥檙e upholding Canada鈥檚 treaty obligations under theCanada-U.S. Defence Production Sharing Agreement (DPSA)听which establishes Canada as a trusted acquisition partner.听We are also embedded in the听to act as the prime contractor for U.S. DoD contracts for contracts greater than USD $250,000.听

Heavy equipment

LiftKing Manufacturing was awarded a contract to provide forklifts for loading and unloading of palletized cargo aboard ships. DART Aerospace now provides ground support equipment for towing, maneuvering and transporting helicopters on land while industrial manufacturer J.A. Larue can bid on snow removal equipment needs of the DLA.
